BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:30 P.M.) – The Spokesperson for the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, Ahmad Mahjoub, stated on Saturday that condemned the US-led attack on Syria earlier today.

In a statement released late this afternoon, Mahjoub expressed Iraq’s disapproval over the attack, claiming that this strike will only strengthen the terrorist groups in the region.

Majoub stated that Iraq is preparing to hold a meeting with Arab leaders to adopt a clear stance regarding this perilous event.

Mahjoub would conclude his statement by stressing the need for a political settlement to the Syrian crisis.

Iraq joined Lebanon and Algeria to become the third Arab nation to condemn the US-led attack on Saturday.
