2018/05/16 | 14:20

(Iraq Now News)- Security forces are escorting ballot boxes as they are being moved from southern Mosul to Baghdad, security sources said Wednesday. They said the High Electoral Commission (HEC) moved the ballot boxes from the camps of displaced persons in southern Mosul to Baghdad for manual counting to be conducted. The sources also spoke of irregularities, saying voters casted ballots in more than one camp in Mosul. This comes as elections were held in several camps of displaced persons such as Qayyara and Hamam al-Alil.Several parties contesting in the elections held last May 12 questioned the integrity of the electoral process.

They said grave irregularities would take place in Sulaymaniyah and Kirkuk.

Premier Haider al-Abadi said that the electoral process was held in total freedom and security as it is the first election since crushing ISIS.
