BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:20 P.M.) – The Turkish Army has been quietly carrying out a military operation inside northern Iraq, despite not having approval from the government in Baghdad.
As shown in the photos below, the Turkish Army has been attacking the positions of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the Kani Rash region, which is located near the Turkish borer.
The Turkish troops have already setup several military bases around the Hakurk region and will be setting up more posts as they advance further south.
According to the Turkish General Staff, their forces have already ‘neutralized’ 131 PKK fighters within a 23 square kilometer area, while also seizing a large quantity of weapons and ammunition.
