BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:00 P.M.) – A group of Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists attempted to infiltrate into a village in the Diyala province of Iraq on Wednesday night, resulting in a fierce battle for a short period of time.

According to Iraq’s Al-Sumaria TV, the Iraqi Army’s 74th Brigade managed to crush the infiltrating Islamic State terrorists, forcing them to withdraw into the Diyala countryside.

The Iraqi Army did kill two of the attacking terrorists, while also wounding four others that were trying to escape.

ISIS is believed to have several sleeper cells still active inside the Diyala countryside, which is one of the reasons why the Iraqi military has kept a large presence in the province.
