Christian village draws on its Peshmerga history to support independence

(Iraq Now News)- Stories of their parents fighting alongside Mullah Mustafa Barzani in the 1961 September Revolution are inspiring support for Kurdistan independence among the new generation of the Christian village of Dure, home to many Peshmerga heroes. Recalling the hardship his father faced, Zaya Talya said, “If my father did not do that, Kurdistan would not have reached this stage.”
