To fuel escalation: Iran sends 'peacekeepers' to Syria

(Iraq Now News)- Head of Iran‘s Revolutionary Guards Mohammad Ali Jafari announced sending what he called "peacekeepers" to Idlib and the northwestern region of Aleppo after a request by the Syrian regime.Jafari stressed that all members of the Iranian forces in Syria are volunteers, most of whom are advisers.Jan Egeland, a UN humanitarian official said Russia and Turkey had informed him of their willingness to take serious steps to prevent any escalation in the region.The United Nations has warned of the situation in Idlib, noting that three million women, children and men in Idlib are at risk due to continuous battles and fights.

It also warned that fighting would lead to unprecedented human suffering in the eight-year conflict.
