UPDATED: Car bomb in Kirkuk kills two, wounds larger number

(Iraq Now News)- KIRKUK, Kurdistan Region - Two persons were killed and 10 others wounded in a car bomb in Kirkuk on Saturday evening, said an official.

Kirkuk Police Spokesperson Afrasiyaw Kamil told Rudaw one person was killed and 10 others wounded in the bombing and a number of vehicles nearby have caught fire.

Halkawt Aziz, Rudaw reporter from the spot reported another person succumbed to his wounds.

The bombing went off at the Adan neighborhood on the main Kirkuk-Baghdad road via a Kia type vehicle.

Aziz added security members have cordoned off the area believing there is an improvised vehicle rigged with explosives placed in the area and that police forces are working to locate it or defuse it. 

A security official added the area is targeted because it is busy during nighttime as a major park is located in the area. He added the person killed cannot be recognized due to burns on his face.
