Iraqi counterterrorism units launch massive security operation in Mosul

(Iraq Now News)-

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (3:03 A.M.) – Iraqi counterterrorism units launched a massive security operation in Mosul city yesterday aimed at cracking on ISIS cells and hideouts dispersed around the ancient city.

After compiling matching information from several Iraqi intelligence departments, a joint force was established consisting of the Iraqi Intelligence, National Security Department, Hawks Intelligence unit, Military Intelligence, a detachment from the Iraqi Army, and a detachment from the Nineveh Guard to accomplish the assigned mission.

The aforementioned force surrounded all the areas where ISIS cells were reported whether in the houses of the operatives’ relatives or mosques in the districts of Sumer, Al-Wahda, Palestine, and Yaremja arresting 220 wanted figures and deporting them to Baghdad for further interrogation.
