Mortar shells target counter-terrorism HQ in Kirkuk

(Iraq Now News)- An Counter-terrorism forces headquarters in northern Kirkuk has been shelled by mortars, security sources revealed Wednesday. 

The oil-rich Kirkuk has been a scene for severe military actions when Iraqi forces backed by Iran-allied IMIS Militias invaded the city. 

The invasion came after the Sept.

25th independence referendum that won an overwhelming YES for an independent Kurdish state.
