Italy planning to cut its troops in Iraq

(Iraq Now News)- Italy is planning to cut its 1,500 military personnel in Iraq this year, Italian press reports said Thursday.

Italian Defense Minister Roberta Pinotti was among 15 defense ministers from the global coalition fighting ISIS who attended the Iraq Reconstruction Conference in Kuwait.

Italy is expected to draw down at least 700 troops, sources said. 

The meeting tackled with the efforts to rebuild Iraq after being devastated under ISIS.

The conference has pledged $30 billion to rebuild Iraq.
